OUR PROGRAM
All our modules are integrated making the activities and preparation a more efficient process for our students. Students also benefit from the multiple perspectives of an integrated program. To help families fit drama into busy lives students are given CD ROMS that include all the resources they need for class and practice at home. We also give written reports twice a year so that families receive specific detailed feedback about what is being achieved.
- VOICE: Students are given exercises to help them realise their vocal potential. Feedback is given each week.
- PERFORMANCE: Students perform plays at the Winter Concert in term 2 & screen their films at the Summer Screening in term 4.
- COMMUNICATIONS: The study of communications and related topics strengthens social skills and develops both self-esteem and confidence. Students become more adept at forming and maintaining healthy relationships. The modules include: Active Listening, Community Building, Conflict Resolution, Team Building, Defining My Learning Style, Negotiation, Restorative Practices, Seminars, Debating, Research, Interviews, Change and Multicultural Societies.
- PUBLIC SPEAKING: The continuing trend toward assessment by presentation means those with strong presentation skills have a significant advantage. We offer students the opportunity to build skills in both impromptu and prepared speaking.
- FILM & THEATRE STUDIES: Each semester students study a different aspect of theatre or film. This provides the content and stimulus material for creative writing and performance.
- CREATIVE WRITING: Students develop play or film scripts using the conventions of the aspect of film or theatre being studied. Students select themes that are of special interest to them.
