Jacqueline, Winter Concert 2006
HISTORY
1994: Bardic Drama School is established in Underwood Street, Paddington with an initial intake of 12 students.
1995: 30 students perform in the Summer Concert in our second year.
1996: An extra afternoon of classes is added to accommodate the growth of the School.
1997: The Parents' and Students' Committee is formed to feed new ideas into the School.
1998: Our filmmaking program begins.
1999: Our first student is accepted to NIDA.
2000: We win our first award in an International Film Festival.
2001: We move to bigger premises in Woollahra.
2002: We win a major International Children's Film Festival with a short film titled The Cake made by the preschoolers.
2003: Our students are the first Australians to be included in the prestigious Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
2004: We celebrate our 10th birthday with a picnic in Centennial Park and an enormous chocolate cake.
2005: We undertake an audit and inspection and re-write our curriculum and syllabus.
2006: The Parents' and Students' Committee is dissolved and our students assume the running of the school when they form the Management Committee. The School program develops even further as a result of their insight.
2007: Our films are included in a record number of international film festivals. The Management Committee creates a more flexible program enabling students to manage drama studies more effectively with their other commitments.
2008: Team building and empathy exercises become a more significant part of every class. We are delighted by the effect on student's motivation, performance and behaviour.
